Environmental Health and Safety

Environmental Health and Safety provide biosafety/biosecurity, EHS training, environmental health, laboratory safety, loss prevention and occupational health services to all ASU campuses.

EHS provides 24-hour, on-call response in conjunction with the ASU Police Department to resolve emergency situations involving hazardous materials or life-safety issues.

日本一本道a不卡免费EHS helps develop and implement policies and procedures to comply with regulatory mandates from:

  • CDC
  • Department of Homeland Security
  • EPA
  • International Fire Code
  • National Institutes of Health
  • OSHA
  • regulations implemented by the state of Arizona, Maricopa County and municipalities where ASU operates facilities.

日本一本道a不卡免费It is the responsibility of each department chair, dean or director to implement and enforce adherence to these policies and procedures. EHS monitors the university's adherence to requirements and reports issues to ASU senior management as identified in the EHS Management Policy.

Compliance officer program

ASU’s Environmental Health and Safety Management Policy calls for the university to be a model of quality in environmental health and safety. A critical linkage in the development of this level of quality is the Compliance Officer Program.

COs are the principal liaison between the departments, colleges and schools with EHS. College or departmental COs, by virtue of their special training and relationship to the EHS, serve as the major source of coordination for activities that support the EHSMP and the activities of the Policy and Operations Committees.

Learn more about the CO program and apply to be a CO on the Become a CO webform. View the current compliance officer roster.
