Commitments:

  • Achieve comprehensive sustainability literacy by university community members by fiscal year 2021.
  • Ensure students graduate with at least one sustainability learning outcome by fiscal year 2021.
  • Achieve an adoption of sustainability behaviors by campus community members by fiscal year 2021.
  • Achieve a culture of sustainability within the university community by fiscal year 2021. 
  • Motivate students to participate in sustainability-related community service opportunities.

Clubs and committees 

Green Devil Network

The Green Devil Network promotes a culture of sustainability at ASU by harnessing the leadership of sustainability champions among faculty and staff to effect change. Green Devils advocate for sustainability in everyday workplace decisions and share these practices across departments.

Staff Council Sustainability Committee

日本一本道a不卡免费This committee is a great way for staff who are passionate about sustainability to foster sustainability programs and policies for the ASU community.

Student sustainability organizations

Many student clubs focus their activities on a specific aspect of sustainability. If you are a student and cannot find one that fits your passion, gather some classmates with similar interests and create one.

Events

Campus sustainability month in October and Earth Month in April

ASU offers a variety of events and programs such as Walk the Green Carpet and Carbon Cleanse for the ASU community to get involved in sustainability. Visit ASU Events for a complete listing. 

Campus sustainability tours

You can conduct your own walking tour of some of the sustainability highlights of the various ASU campuses. University Sustainability Practices and student groups also provide group tours upon request. Email USP.

Wrigley Lecture Series

The Wrigley Lecture Series brings internationally known thinkers and problem-solvers to ASU to engage directly with students and the larger sustainability community.

All ticketed Sun Devil events strive for zero waste. Do your part and help ASU win the annual Pac-12 Zero Waste games competition for highest diversion rate in each major sport.  

Funding

Do you have a great campus sustainability idea but lack the resources to implement it? The Sustainability Initiatives Revolving Fund provides three ways for university individuals or departments to obtain funding for sustainability projects on campus. Tier 1 provides grants of up to $5,000 for projects or programs that engage the university community in campus sustainability activities and behaviors.

Seeds of Sustainability

日本一本道a不卡免费This online program for ASU students, faculty and staff provides an easy-to-understand introduction to fundamental sustainability concepts and how ASU is implementing them. It also provides an opportunity to earn your Seeds of Sustainability certificate.

Travel and transportation

Alternative transportation

Valley Metro light rail, bike, skateboard, walk, intercampus shuttles and sustainable parking permits. ASU offers a variety of tools to help students, faculty and staff commute using alternative transportation to reduce your carbon footprint. You can get out of your single-occupant vehicle without leaving your comfort zone.

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

日本一本道a不卡免费Electric vehicle chargers on Tempe campus get a boost of power at 12 available electric vehicle charging locations. A total of 46 charging spaces will be installed throughout all four campuses. 

日本一本道a不卡免费Drivers may download the free ChargePoint app on the App Store or Google Play to find the charging stations, track their charging, receive notifications and more. The app can also help drivers find any of the more than 60,000 other ChargePoint charging spaces throughout North America.

Telecommuting 

ASU allows telecommuting, provided certain conditions are met. This can be a method to reduce commuting time, expenses and emissions.

Teleconferencing

With continual improvements in technology, videoconferencing provides an alternative to travel across campus, between campuses or even on an airplane to get people together to accomplish goals. ASU provides Vidyo capabilities and support for your videoconferencing needs.

Changemaker Central

Changemaker Central is a community of like-minded students that are leading social change in our local and global community. With Changemaker spaces and programs on ASU campuses, Changemaker’s student team is prepared to help you navigate the many ways you can get make a difference at ASU.

Devils in Disguise

A longstanding tradition, Devils in Disguise is the largest student-led day of service at ASU. Get into the community and help contribute to one of a wide range of service projects.

Help ASU harvest the oranges on campus to be used in Engrained recipes and in catering at ASU events.

Sustainability connect
